Letter From Recruitment Chair
Dear Potential New Members, Friends, and Families,
My name is Annaellis Vaughan and I am the Membership Director for Phi Mu at American University. As a senior, I cannot believe my college career is coming to an end. When I reflect on my time at American University, I am proud of the friendships I have, the memories I made and the personal growth I developed. I give a lot of credit to Phi Mu and the wonderful women it in.
In Phi Mu we have a saying; it’s not about who you will become, it’s about who you have always been. Phi Mu allowed not only me, but every amazing woman in this chapter to become the best version of themselves. We all have qualities that make us stand out to be great individuals. Nevertheless, we all hold similar traits that bond us together. Everyone in this chapter is passionate, kind, selfless, and driven. The love that I feel from this sisterhood is so great and I know that I will always have people who love and support me unconditionally. I know that once I graduate, the friendships I have will never fade. I am so grateful that I am apart of something so special and that it doesn't have to end once I walk across the stage on graduation day. I am forever thankful that I decided to register for formal recruitment as a freshman.
If you’ve stumbled upon this letter, then I could assume that you are thinking about going through the formal recruitment process yourself. If you are, then I am so excited for you! Formal recruitment may be a long four days, but it is worth it. My biggest piece of advice is to meet each chapter with an open mind and heart. You will find your way, even if it may look different than how you initially envisioned. I am truly grateful and honored to serve as the Membership Director of Phi Mu - Gamma Delta. I am excited to plan this experience so that we can show you what makes our sisterhood so great. I hope that you find your place and home within American University Greek Life. I can't wait to meet all of you during formal recruitment.
All the best,
Annaellis Vaughan
